How the days are counted
- The day count is the later date minus the earlier date. January 1, 2026 to January 2, 2026 is 1 day. The same date is 0 days.
- Weeks are that count grouped by 7. 10 days is 1 week and 3 days.
- The calendar line counts whole years, then whole months, then the remaining days. January 15, 2020 to March 10, 2024 is 4 years, 1 month, and 24 days.
- February 29 counts in a leap year. February 28, 2024 to March 1, 2024 is 2 days. February 28, 1900 to March 1, 1900 is 1 day.
- Dates can be from 1600 through 2400. Weekends stay in the count.
The two dates are calendar dates, with no time of day. This page does not skip weekends, and it does not turn the count into business days.
