How the tax is calculated
- The tax is the price times the percent, divided by 100. 100 at 8% is a tax of 8.
- The total is the price plus the tax. 100 plus 8 is 108.
- 100 at 20% is a tax of 20 and a total of 120.
- The price can be 0 or more. The percent can be 0 to 100. Amounts are shown to 2 decimal places. A comma is a thousands separator, so 1,000 is 1000.
